Could It Be Potty Time Again?

Katie is still going through this phase where she constantly is sticking her hand down the front of her diaper or in the side of the diaper. It has been driving me crazy and is not the most pleasant either. Most mornings she wakes up with wet PJs since she has pushed down the front of her diaper.

I haven't blogged much about this and the gory details. Some of them are too gross to share and I just get tired of telling her to get her hands out of her diaper. Even Michael tries to get her to stop doing it. I wish I could ignore the problem to make her stop but that's not an option, as evidenced by having to clean all of the Memory game cards after a dirty diaper incident.

Since I have tried so many different things, I figured that I would go ahead and take out the potty. Even if she didn't use it, she could get used to sitting on it. I ask her each night before we get in the bathtub if she wants to use the potty. Most nights she will look at me and say "no" quite emphatically. Last Wednesday she sat down on the potty and peed in it! I told her that she did a good job and she started clapping for herself. It was too cute!

I know this is just the beginning and I am not going to push the potty but will just keep offering it to her. Maybe she pushes the diaper down because she doesn't like the feeling of being wet or maybe she just does it because she knows no one wants her to! Either way, we have to come up with a solution for wet PJs and poopy hands.

I hope the potty helps. Or that something helps. Anything. I know this is no funny for you, and I really wish it would just go away.

If you start it, let us know how it goes! I am thinking of starting Autumn around 2 or 2 1/2. She's only 20 months now.

I hope this works for you. That's awesome that she peed on it!
