Snow in the South

Today we had a snow day! This is something that occurs on a regular basis in other parts of the US, but not in South Carolina. Since I am from New Jersey originally, I am always skeptical when they say there will be snow. I always just assume that it won't be enough to close anything. Well, all of the area schools were closed by 7:00pm on Monday night and it wasn't even raining/snowing or anything. I got up at 3:00am and there still wasn't any snow on the ground. Imagine my surprise when I woke up at 7:30am and there was a fine dusting of snow on the cars and rooftops. Of course, there wasn't any on the road or sidewalks because they were wet.

Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera at home with me since I had forgotten it at work. So I couldn't even take a picture of what little snow we did get. We got Michael all bundled up around 11:00 and took him outside. Almost all of the snow on the grass and car was gone but there was still a little bit of flurries falling. He was just happy to be outside but kept telling me it was cold, which is really was. After we came inside, we drank some hot chocolate to warm up.

I went to the bank around 3:00 and all of the snow was gone and the sun was shining. Gotta love the weather here!
