33.

I love numbers. Anyone who knows me knows that. I should work in a profession that has to do with numbers, instead of letters. So I thought it was only fitting that I highlight the number 33 this week. Today is my 33rd birthday and I will be 33 weeks pregnant on Saturday. I think it's neat when numbers come together like that. I enjoyed celebrating my 29th birthday on the 29th a few years ago.

And I have already been thinking about numbers when it comes to other family birthdays. Todd and Michael are both born on the 16th of their birth month and Katie will most likely be born on the 16th of March. I will be the odd one out, but that's OK because it will be easy to remember everyone else's birthday.

Maybe someday I will do something with my love of numbers but for now, I will just continue to enjoy the relationships of numbers in my everyday life!

32 weeks

I was 32 weeks on Saturday and finally had Todd take some updated belly shots. I haven't been keeping up with them as much as I should have but there has been so much else going on.

I am still feeling pretty tired and starting to get excited for Katie's arrival. At the same time, I feel like there is so much left to still do and am worried that we won't get it all done in time. But we do have the major items needed and tons of clothes that my generous friends have passed down to us, as well as clothes from grandparents and friends. This is going to be one well-dressed baby girl!!

On Saturday, two of my friends threw me a "trunk" shower. We had all gotten together for a sorority lunch and they surprised me by bringing gifts along too. We had mini cupcakes and I opened my gifts. Katie got blankets, towels, washcloths, a rattle and many cute outfits. Thanks Jennie & Alexa!!

Snow in the South

Today we had a snow day! This is something that occurs on a regular basis in other parts of the US, but not in South Carolina. Since I am from New Jersey originally, I am always skeptical when they say there will be snow. I always just assume that it won't be enough to close anything. Well, all of the area schools were closed by 7:00pm on Monday night and it wasn't even raining/snowing or anything. I got up at 3:00am and there still wasn't any snow on the ground. Imagine my surprise when I woke up at 7:30am and there was a fine dusting of snow on the cars and rooftops. Of course, there wasn't any on the road or sidewalks because they were wet.

Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera at home with me since I had forgotten it at work. So I couldn't even take a picture of what little snow we did get. We got Michael all bundled up around 11:00 and took him outside. Almost all of the snow on the grass and car was gone but there was still a little bit of flurries falling. He was just happy to be outside but kept telling me it was cold, which is really was. After we came inside, we drank some hot chocolate to warm up.

I went to the bank around 3:00 and all of the snow was gone and the sun was shining. Gotta love the weather here!

31 weeks today

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by. It seems like just yesterday that we found out we were expecting baby #2. And then a short time later, that we were expecting a girl! This pregnancy has been different than my first one in some ways and exactly the same in others. I have had awful heartburn with both pregnancies and it's not something I would wish on anyone. Luckily, I have been using medicine this time to control it and this helps a good bit.

I had my 30 week appt yesterday. We had another ultrasound to check on baby and my placenta to make sure it was growing up the right way. Thankfully, it was! We got to see Katie again and the tech confirmed that she was indeed still a girl. For some reason, both Todd and I were a little bit worried about this. We got to see her face, arms, legs and even her cute little fist all balled up. I joked that she had been using it to hit me from the inside out. She already weighs 3 lbs 9 oz, which I think is about what Michael weighed at this time.

My appt went well otherwise. My blood pressure is still good and I have only gained 16 pounds so far. Of course, I wouldn't expect to gain much considering I can't eat much. I will now go to appts every 2 weeks until mid-February when I will start to go once a week.

Here are some pictures of Katie from the ultrasound:

Perfect Puzzles

Michael loves to do puzzles of any kind. He got quite a few new ones for Christmas and has already been working hard on them. He can sit and do the same puzzle over and over again and won't stop until he gets it done.

Last night before bed, we read the jigsaw train book and then Michael was putting the pieces back in. He had gone through several of the number cars and was saying something after he got them in. I listened and finally realized what he was saying. I quickly went to get the video camera so that I could capture this moment. Here is the video so that you can hear it for yourself:

If you aren't sure what he is saying, just look at the title of this blog post!
